Why does every astronaut land in Kazakhastan?

http://bountycpa.go2cloud.org/aff_c?offer_id=4&aff_id=70845Russian Cosmonauts, and American Astronauts being ferried on Soyuz Capsules land in Kazakhastan. During the Soviet Era they had to land on the ground, and within their territory. Thus Kazakhastan, then part of the Soviet UNion, was designated as the general landing area.

Kazakhastan was the place the USSR did a lot of things they didn’t want the rest of the world to know about. They had one of the largest Gulag camps there. And they did all their nuclear tests there. So they also did their space flight landings.

There were a few test flights that ended up in the Indian Ocean, and at least one Space Station landing that missed the landing site by 200 miles, but on a whole Kazakhastan is the official landing area for Soyuz.
