Julen Lopetegui, who is still unbeaten as Spain boss, winning 11 of his 14 games in charge, announced his squad for the friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia.

Spain topped their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification group ahead of Italy and booked their ticket to Russia unbeaten.

The Spain boss once again had to make a few tough calls, leaving the likes of Diego Costa, who hasn’t played a single game in 2017/18 yet, as well as Juan Mata and Cesc Fabregas out of his talented squad
